Anywhat, I’ll just say that I sat through plenty of Nancy Reagan/Ronald Reagan/Bush 41 shit through school and my mom and dad didn’t ONCE freak out or become frothing mad.
In fact, they didn’t say much of anything. And my parents are insane liberals and can hardly participate in regular society, due to their lefty views on life and such. First, they didn’t give a shit about Nancy Reagan telling me not to do drugs. Second, most political discussions were related to actual political issues, not discussions about education and wearing a fucking helmet.
My mother spent a lot of time discussing with me the failings of Ronald Reagan’s policy with regards to medical care for the mentally ill. My dad discussed the problems with Prop 6 with me. My parents aren’t geniuses, but active people, who care about our country. They did their part by telling me what they thought and then gave me the space to figure out what I did or didn’t agree with re: our government.
Jesus, I am so exhausted and exasperated by these blithering, flailing morons. You know what is so interesting about these wackadoo screamers? By preventing the discussions from happening, by yelling and hiding, they are actually more fascist than the leader they love to hate. What are they afraid of and why are they hiding? They are frightened and fear is no way to parent a child.
